Self-Image Reset
Separate who you are from old labels and grow into the person you choose to be.
What you will walk away with
You replace one old label with a chosen identity and collect daily proof for it.
This course is for you if
- Old labels still shape your choices
- You feel like you are playing a role
- You want to know who you are without the mask
What is inside
- Module 1: Where Your Self-Image Came From
Memory hook: LABELS ARE NOT LAWS · Most of your self-image was written by other people, early, in pencil.- Your self-image is a story (5 min)
- Find your old labels (6 min)
Action step: Do the ten-label exercise. Sort every label into keep, update or drop, and write who first gave you each label you plan to drop.
- Module 2: See Yourself More Accurately
Memory hook: THE FAIR WITNESS · Describe yourself the way a fair witness would: facts first, kindness always.- Talk to yourself from a distance (5 min)
- Facts, not verdicts (5 min)
Action step: Catch three verdicts you say about yourself this week. Rewrite each as a fact plus a next step. Try one moment of distanced self-talk using your own name.
- Module 3: Choose Who You're Becoming
Memory hook: I'M BECOMING... · Swap 'I'm not' for 'I'm becoming,' then act like it once today.- Write a chosen identity (5 min)
- Small proof every day (5 min)
Action step: Write your 'I'm becoming...' identity. Do one small action today that proves it, and start your proof list with that line.
- Module 4: Live It Without the Mask
Memory hook: ONE REAL THING · Let people see one real thing about you today.- Comparison and the highlight reel (5 min)
- Be seen as you are (5 min)
Action step: This week, share one real thing about yourself with one person you trust. Mute or unfollow one account that consistently makes you feel worse about yourself.
Every module ends with a three-question quiz, and the course ends with a 10-question final test. Pass it to earn 40 learning points and the Self-Image Reset badge in the app.
The research behind it
Uses ideas from self-efficacy research (Bandura, 1977) and from studies of distanced self-talk (Kross and colleagues, 2014). Education only. If you're struggling with how you see yourself, please talk to a licensed professional.
Free preview: Your self-image is a story
Your self-image is the picture you hold of who you are: smart or not, likable or not, capable or not, "a creative person" or "not a math person."
Much of it was written early by parents, teachers, classmates, coaches and experiences. Some labels were kind and accurate. Others were careless, outdated or simply wrong.
Labels matter because people tend to act in line with how they see themselves. If you think you're "not a finisher," you may quit early, which seems to prove the label true.
The good news: a self-image is a story, and stories can be edited. This course helps you notice the old lines and write better ones, honestly.
Key points: Self-image = your story about who you are · Many labels came from others, early · Stories can be edited
