Free preview: Find your direction: the idea
Start with moments that felt meaningful, satisfying, or honest. Write down what mattered in those moments: connection, independence, learning, creativity, service, or another value.
Separate a value from a public milestone. A title or purchase can support a value, but it does not define a satisfying life by itself.
Values are directions expressed through behavior, not achievements you can finish. “Learning” might appear as asking a question or practicing a skill. “Connection” might appear as giving someone your full attention. Choose words that make sense in your own life instead of selecting what sounds impressive.
Try the ordinary-Tuesday test. Imagine a normal day with work, meals, chores, and other responsibilities. What would be different if you lived this value more often? A small specific difference is a stronger planning starting point than an idealized lifestyle with unlimited time and money.
Exercise: write five values, a recent moment when each mattered, and one action that would express it this week. Choose one direction for the course. You can keep other directions without trying to work on all of them at once.
Key points: Choose one value and a small behavior that expresses it · Choose a small, observable next step
